2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-044

Description

2006 WDDO-044 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY are lightly thickened, and ERTY shows slight notching on the upper left corners of the letters. On the obverse: a short upright scratch over the R of TRUST; a south-to-north crack in the hair left of the ear; high on the back of the head, in the hair, a north-to-south crack crossed by two west-to-east cracks; and a northwest-to-southeast crack at the upper front of the forehead, with a chip on it. On the reverse, a large chip sits on the upper left of the second column, and a crack links the left post to the base of the third column. Brian Allen submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
