2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-042

Description

2006 WDDO-042 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. ERTY of LIBERTY has notches on the upper left, and the digits of the date are thickened. Obverse Stage A: a short scratch reaching in from the rim, just to the left of the U of TRUST, and a crack heading NNW from Lincoln's eyebrow. Obverse Stage B is the same as Stage A. On the reverse, Stage A shows a pre-die chip depression at the top of the first bay; by Reverse Stage B a large chip has formed at that spot. Brian Allen submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
