2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-004

Description

2006 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong extra thickness shows on the date and on LIBERTY, which has notches on the upper left of ERTY, and to a lesser degree on IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse: a small gouge well east of the eye; a gouge well to the north of LIBERTY's I; a small gouge (dot) under the O in GOD toward its left side; and a crack running NW from the eyebrow that bends west before it reaches the top of the forehead. On the reverse, a gouge sits in the lower part of the N in CENT, and a small gouge (dot) lies over the right cornice. Robert Tingle submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-013. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
