2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

2006 WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows extra thickness, with notches on the upper left of ERTY. On the obverse: a small gouge to the right of the date's second zero, at its top; a strong gouge well to the north of LIBERTY's ER; a small gouge (dot) right of the middle of the I in LIBERTY; and a crack heading NNW from the eyebrow, ending in the hair over the top of the forehead. On the reverse: a gouge in the lower part of the U in UNITED; a small gouge (dot) under the A in STATES toward its right side; and a small gouge right of the middle of the T in CENT. Robert Tingle submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
