2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

2006 WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows extra thickness with notches on the upper left of its letters, and the date is lightly thickened too. On the obverse: a small gouge under the L in LIBERTY; a small gouge left of the lower I in IN; a crack heading NW from the eyebrow; a crack on the lower nose just over the nostril; heavy cracks and chips in the hair at the back of the head; and a chip on the top of the head. On the reverse: a horizontal scratch right of the N in CENT, high up; a small gouge between the lower T and A of STATES; a small gouge right of the base of the 12th column; short cracks atop columns 1 and 2; and a short crack north of the fourth column. Robert Tingle submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
