2006 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2006 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2006 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows extra thickness, with strong notches on the upper parts of the letters; the date, the lower hair around the ear and the beard details are thickened as well. On the obverse, faint scratches extend NE from the TY of LIBERTY, a crack heads NNE from the eyebrow, and a small gouge (dot) lies north of the 06 of the date. On the reverse: a small chip at the top of the second column; short cracks at the tops of columns 1 through 5; a small gouge under the lower right of the Memorial; a crack down the lower E of CENT; and small chips at the middle of the 11th column. Robert Tingle submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
