Description

Ninth doubled die reverse documented for the 2006 Denver Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent, WDDR-009 emerged during the penultimate years of Frank Gasparro's iconic Memorial reverse design, which would be replaced after the 2008 production year by the four-design 2009 Bicentennial set. Hub doubling on this variety resulted from misalignment during the multi-impression die sinking process at the die manufacturing facility, where the working hub carrying the Memorial reverse design shifted between passes.
