2005 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

The 2005 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002 bears reverse hub doubling created when the working die received a secondary impression from the hub at a slightly different position. Struck at the Denver Mint, This State quarter was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, in copper-nickel clad composition, weighing 5.67 grams. Die markers: Obverse: A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower U in UNITED. A small die gouge can be found below the right side of the R in TRUST. Reverse: A die chip can be found inside the bottom loop of the 8 in 1850. A small die gouge can be found above the top left side of the M of YOSEMITE. A short die crack runs NE from the front of the rim of John Muir’s hat. A pre-die chip depression can be found above the top front of the hat. A pre-die chip depression can be found at the top right side of the granite headwall. A pre-die chip depression can be found at the bottom right side of the granite headwall. Die Markers: Obverse:.
