2004 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-015

Description

2004 WDDO-015 is a doubled die obverse on the 2004 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date, LIBERTY and the lower beard and hair details are thickened, with notching on the lower left of ERTY. On the obverse, a gouge lies SW of the I in IN and a small gouge sits right of that I's base; a gouge is in the second zero of the date; and a small gouge touches the I in LIBERTY at its upper right. The reverse is also a doubled die, filed in the Wexler files as 2004 WDDR-097. Its doubling is on the upper right side of the sixth column, left of the statue's upper body and head. Reverse markers: a gouge touching the E in UNITED on its lower right underside; a small gouge (dot) right of the upper T in CENT; and a small gouge (dot) between the E and N of CENT. Joseph Koelling submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-023.
