2004 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-014

Description

2004 WDDO-014 is a doubled die obverse on the 2004 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show light extra thickness, and there is notching on the lower left of the T and Y. On the obverse, a small gouge (dot) lies under the E in LIBERTY on its left side, and a short crack heads SW from that E's lower left corner. A gouge sits right of the base of the G in GOD, and die pitting lies under the second zero of the date. On the reverse: a crack and chips on the upper right of the first column; a crack down the second column; a chip over the fourth column; a small chip at the base of the third column; and a chip between the two lowest steps, between the fourth and fifth columns. Brian Allen submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
