Description

Washington's earlobe provides the primary diagnostic for WDDO-002 on the 2002-D Ohio State Quarter, where doubling shows on the underside of this facial feature — a subtle but definitive indicator of hub displacement during die manufacture at the Denver Mint. The Ohio quarter, the seventeenth release in the State Quarter program, features a reverse depicting an astronaut, a Wright Flyer, and the state outline, designed by Donna Weaver.
