1998-D Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-027
Error
Description
Bar extended from the hand to the lower knee right of the statue on the seventh column — an architecturally distinctive DDR on the 1998 Denver Memorial Cent. Obverse markers: numerous die chips above IBER of LIBERTY. Reverse: die scratch from top right of second S of STATES toward rim; die chip touching bottom of dot before UNUM. Attributed by the Wexler Team (Wexler Variety ID: 1998-D 1¢ WDDR-027) with no other known cross-references. The bar connecting hand to knee results from hub displacement oriented to produce a linear streak, and the detailed Memorial interior provides diagnostic surfaces unique to this denomination.
