1997 Atypical Die Clash ADC-10C-1997-01
Error
Description
ADC-10c-1997-01 This is a dual event, atypical die clash. This coin is in the collection of Dick Wells. Evidence that two clash events occurred can be seen by the duplicated clash marks left by the reverse die. The dual clash marks in Roosevelt’s neck are from the torch on the reverse. While the obverse die does show duplicated clash marks, the reverse has only one small section where the clash events are seen. The clash marks above the first U in PLURIBUS were created by the bridge of Roosevelt’s nose and the field.
