1997 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-039

Description

1997 WDDR-039 is a doubled die reverse on the 1997 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, an extended bar starts at the upper leg and ends at the upper base. On the obverse, a die chip touches the upper right of the second 9 in the date, and another sits over the upper left of the 7. On the reverse, a die chip lies left of the center of the I in AMERICA, a small one sits beneath the right side of the R in AMERICA, one is over the upper right corner of the E in E PLURIBUS, and another is above the L of PLURIBUS. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler's comments compare it to 1997 WDDR-086, which is similar, though on this die the bar does not extend as far south.
