1997 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-033

Description

1997 WDDR-033 is a doubled die reverse on the 1997 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, an extended bar starts at the upper leg and ends at the middle of the base. Obverse Stage A is the first obverse die. Its markers: a die chip west of the I in IN and another below that I; a chip inside the R of LIBERTY; a chip touching the lower part of the B of LIBERTY; and two chips SW of the 1 in the date. Obverse Stage B is a second obverse die, with a small chip left of the 1 of the date, chips north and NE of the B of VDB, and a chip south of the T in LIBERTY. Wexler notes no markers for Reverse Stage A. Reverse Stage B shows strong die scratches running NW off the sixth Memorial column's left side; die chips well left of the bottom of the first column and left of the Memorial base; a chip right of the lower I in AMERICA; a chip in the upper part of bay 11; a chip under the N of UNUM; and a chip above the R of PLURIBUS. Steve Young submitted Stage A and Tanner Scott Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler's comments note that Stage A uses the same obverse die as 1997 WDDR-050.
