1997 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

1997 WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1997 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling appears on the right side of the sixth Memorial column, left of the middle of the statue. On the obverse, a die chip lies north of VDB and a gouge northwest of it. In the date, a chip sits above the 1, another in the middle of the second 9, and one more centered over the 97. On the reverse, a gouge lies under the middle crossbar of the E in ONE, and another lies left of the upper C in CENT. Leonard Matyjasik submitted the variety; Wexler's updated photos were taken of a coin from Steve Young. Wexler lists no cross-references.
