1995 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-011

Description

1995 WDDR-011 is a doubled die reverse on the 1995 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The first Memorial bay holds an extra column, and the second and third bays show partial extra columns. On the obverse, four parallel WSW-to-ENE scratches lie under the TR of LIBERTY, and two almost parallel scratches head SW from the O in GOD, one off its lower left and one off its lower right. One long ENE scratch starts at the top of the chin, and another long ENE scratch starts at the upper right of the first 9 in the date. Many WSW-to-ENE scratches lie left of, across and below the 19, and many other scratches are spread over the obverse. On the reverse, a scratch runs SE from the lower right of the T in CENT to the rim, and another heads NNW off the upper right of that T. In the field under the left side of the steps there is a heavy, almost horizontal scratch, and several more scratches, mostly west to east, lie between the base of the Memorial and ONE CENT. Billy G. Crawford submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDR-005. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
