Description
Listed under the Wexler system as 1995 1 cent WDDR-006, this variety represents a separate die from its predecessor, with distinct die markers and spread characteristics that differentiate the two Class VIII doubled dies. The CONECA numbering system assigns sequential numbers within each class and side combination, so 2-R-VIII indicates this was the second reverse die of this doubling class cataloged for the year. Both WDDR-005 and WDDR-006 share the tilted hub doubling mechanism but were produced from independently prepared dies, each leaving its own diagnostic fingerprint on the coins it struck.
