1994 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-1994-01

Description

ADC-1c-1994-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1994-P Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. It records three unabraded clashes, mostly on the obverse, where they are distinct. After each clash the hammer die, presumably the obverse, moved west and up, partly wiping out the clash before it. The reverse shows little: only faint marks in bays 8 and 9. The clash marks are rotated slightly, about 5° from horizontal, which does not show in the strike itself. The coin is courtesy of Bob Piazza.
