The 1992 XXV Olympiad Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a United States five-dollar gold coin from the Modern Commemorative Five Dollar Gold (1984-Date) series. In 1992 the West Point Mint struck 27,732 uncirculated and 77,313 proof Barcelona Olympic five-dollar gold coins, 105,045 in all. The obverse features a sprinter running toward the viewer with the U.S. flag behind, and the reverse displays a bald eagle with the Olympic rings. Struck in 90% gold and 10% alloy, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by James Sharpe, T. James Ferrell/James M. Peed.
