Description

The 1992-S silver proof Kennedy half dollar DDO-001, which Wexler numbers WDDO-001, is a doubled die obverse with a medium spread on WE TRUST, the S mint mark and the 92 of the date. Both catalogs list it as FS-101 (Wexler writes it FS-50-1992S-101). Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties records a counterclockwise (CCW) spread from a pivot near 10:00, on WE TRUST, the date and the mint mark, the RTY of LIBERTY, and details of the hair beneath the R in LIBERTY. It notes nothing significant on either side. Jennifer Casazza submitted the coin, and CONECA lists the die as 1-O-V. VarietyVista, which also credits Jennifer Casazza, notes that this is a proof and describes it as the first silver proof coin reported with a hub doubled mint mark. Under its marker codes UVC-293 and DMR-003 it confirms stage A, with obverse and reverse in an early die state; a middle stage B and a late stage C are unconfirmed.

Die Markers
