1990 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-004

Description

1990 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1990 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a strong counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting near 2:00, seen on LIBERTY, on IN, on the date and bowtie, and on the vest front both above and below the bowtie. On the obverse, a gouge extends from the rim just right of the second T in TRUST, and two diagonal scratches lie beneath the beard. On the reverse, starting at the upper left cornice, a die crack passes through the I in UNITED and out to the rim. Left of the C in CENT there are two heavy gouges. Jennifer Casazza submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-O-V. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
