1983 Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-1983-03
Error
Description
ADC-1c-1983-03 This is a dual event die clash with two clashes happening within a period of time between the clashes events. The first clash event (the weaker of the two) is a normal die clash with the Y of LIBERTY showing in bay 2 of the Memorial building. The second or later die clash (which is the stronger of the two) is slightly rotated from the first clash (2º) and is slightly misaligned as well. This die clash also shows the Y of LIBERTY in bay 2. This coin is in the collection of Robert Jennik. The image below shows the clash marks left by the bays on the reverse die. The two clash events are readily seen in the image to the left. One set is indicated by black arrows and the other by white arrows. These clash events can be identified by the die crack seen on the left base corner of the Memorial building.
