The CU-5c-1982P-04 Cud is a cud error, a type of major die break at the rim where a piece of the die broke away, creating a raised featureless blob at the edge of the coin. This variety was discovered on the 1982 (P) Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Cross-referenced as Cross reference number: JNC-82P-1.
