Description

The Washington Quarter counterpart to the identically coded Kennedy Half Dollar DDO-006, this Bicentennial variety also carries die markers UVC-570 and DMR-010 — an unusual coincidence where two denominations share the same variety number and marker codes. The Washington Quarter features John Flanagan's portrait of George Washington on the obverse and Jack Ahr's special Bicentennial reverse depicting a colonial drummer, distinctly different from the Kennedy Half's Independence Hall reverse. Medium spread appears on IN GOD WE TRUST and the dual date 1776-1976. Three die states are documented: Stage A with both obverse and reverse in Early Die State, Stage B in Early Die State (unconfirmed), and Stage C in Late Die State (unconfirmed).
