1974 Eisenhower Dollar - Variety WMHR-001

Description

1974 WMHR-001 is a reverse master hub doubling listed on the 1974 Eisenhower dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. The craters, ONE DOLLAR and the designer's initials show a spread toward the center. The die markers on both sides vary from one affected working die to another, Wexler notes. Various submitters are credited. CONECA's listing is SD-2-R-II-C+VI. Per Wexler, a master hub was intended to serve for several years, and working dies carrying the same doubling exist for 1974, 1977 and 1978. The doubling can look different from coin to coin because of wear on the master hub, master die, working hub or working die, and because of wear on the coin.
