Cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC-471 and DMR-027, the 1971-S Kennedy Half Dollar DDO-017 is a proof variety displaying light spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, the date, and LIBERTY. Three die stages document progressive die evolution: Stage A shows EDS with a light die scratch on the rim east of the B of LIBERTY and a die gouge west of the upper O of DOLLAR, Stage B shows both obverse and reverse at MDS, and Stage C is unconfirmed LDS.
