Description
1971-D WSDO-001 is a series doubling obverse listing on the 1971-D Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A light counterclockwise (CCW) spread, pivoting near 11:00, shows on IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT) and LIBERTY. Wexler notes the obverse and reverse die markers differ among the affected working dies. John A. Wexler submitted it, and CONECA lists it as SD-1-O-II+V. According to Wexler, the doubled hub went into use partway through 1971 and stayed in use for all of 1972, so it turns up on coins from all three mints.
