Description
The 1970-S Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1970 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Large Date, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: A die crack runs down the lower half of the nine and then east to the top of the mint mark. Reverse: A die gouge can be found near the rim to the right of the designer’s initials.
