1970-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-024
Error
Description
Doubling shows above the horizontal bar of the 7 in the date. Die Markers: Obverse: The die has been heavily abraded to remove die clash marks. Clash marks from two Memorial bays can be seen to the left of the back of the neck and lower head. Parallel die scratches run from west to east through the 197. Numerous other die scratches running mostly SW to NE can be found throughout the obverse. Reverse: This is the same reverse die as seen on WDDO-018A. The die has been heavily abraded to remove die clash marks. Clash mark remnants can be seen in the 4th bay. A die scratch runs from the upper right 1st T of STATES through the dot between the E and P in EPU. A die scratch runs from the bottom right of the A in STATES to the top right of the P in PLURIBUS. A die scratch runs SW from the I of UNITED to the Memorial. Numerous other die scratches running mostly NW to SE can be found throughout the reverse.
