Description
1970-D WDDO-023 is a doubled die obverse on the 1970-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling shows beneath the L's horizontal bar in LIBERTY and over the 7's horizontal bar in the date. On the obverse, a short gouge sticks out from the middle of the back of the shoulder, and from it a scratch curves NNW up to the lower left of the E in LIBERTY. On the reverse, parallel NNW to SSE scratches lie right of the designer's initials, and a short scratch runs south from the base of the Memorial close to its right end. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
