Description
A nice Class I CCW spread shows on the letters of LIBERTY, IGWT, and the date. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A curving die gouge runs parallel to the rim above the D in GOD, WE, and the first T in TRUST. Two short, parallel die gouges run WSW from the rim to the right of the 2nd T in TRUST. Two parallel die gouges runs NW from the rim to the left of the base of the bust. Obverse Stage B: The die gouge above the D in GOD, WE, and the first T in TRUST is the only remaining Stage A marker. Die clash marks of the Memorial bays can be seen to the left of the back of the neck running through the TY in LIBERTY. Numerous die scratches, mostly running north to south, can be seen throughout the obverse. Reverse Stage A: Two parallel die scratches run NW from the left side of the Memorial roof. A die gouge protrudes from the right side of the upper 6th column to the left of the top of the statue’s head. A horizontal die scratch runs through the bottom off the UN in UNUM. Reverse Stage B: The reverse die has been heavily abraded. The Stage A markers are gone. Numerous die scratches, mostly running north to south, can be seen throughout the reverse.
