1970-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007
Error
Description
A Class I CW spread shows on the letters of LIBERTY, IGWT, and the date. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Two die gouges extend from the rim above and just right of the 2nd T in TRUST. Die pitting can be found below the lower left 0 in date. Obverse Stage B: The Stage A die markers are very weak. Obverse Stage C: Die clash marks can be found in the field behind the neck. X-shaped die scratches extend from the top of the nose. Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse. Reverse Stage A: A die gouge can be found between the lower N and T of CENT. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die marker is very weak. A short, horizontal die gouge can be found in the lower 2nd bay. Reverse Stage C: Tripled die clash marks can be found below the left side of the Memorial. An inverted Y from a die clash can be found in the upper 2nd bay. Abrading has caused the Memorial roof to appear detached.
