1968 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Variety WMDO-001

Description

1968-D WMDO-001 is a doubled master die obverse on the 1968-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on IN GOD WE TRUST and LIB of LIBERTY. Wexler notes that the die markers, obverse and reverse, differ from one working die to the next. The entry's comments explain that because the doubling is on the master die, every working die for the 1968 Roosevelt dimes, which Wexler lists as P, D and S-Mint proof, carried it, so all 1968 Roosevelt dimes show it. How clearly it can be seen depends on the state of the working hub and the working die and on wear to the coin. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
