Description
Obverse: Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die files as 1967 25¢ WDDO-001B. A strong spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY where it is also slightly CCW from a pivot at about 7:00. The spread on LIBERTY increases from left to right. A lesser spread shows on the date, the designer’s initials, and the lower queue. A die crack runs E/W across the upper forehead extending into the hair. A light die crack runs across the base of the bust. A die gouge (dot) can be found just SW of the tip of the nose. Reverse: A die crack can be found on the eagle’s left wing below the MER in AMERICA. A die gouge runs from the lower right of the D in UNITED south to the wing.
