Description
The 1966 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-007 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1966 SMS Kennedy Half Dollar, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Silver Clad 1965-1970 series. Die markers: UVC-081 DMR-009 Stage A: Several short Northwest die gouges Southwest of the first 6 of the date – EDS Minor split serifs on the stars under STATES OF – EDS Stage B: Obverse and Reverse are MDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed).
