Fifteenth in the reverse doubled die census for the 1964 Roosevelt silver dime, DDR-015 exhibits light spread across all rim lettering, manifesting primarily as notched serifs with the strongest effect concentrated on the word UNITED. John R. Sinnock's reverse design — featuring a torch flanked by olive and oak branches — carries the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM along the peripheral rim, and the notched serif presentation of the doubling provides a distinctive diagnostic: rather than appearing as fully separated secondary letter images, the doubling manifests as small angular extensions at the serif terminations of each letter, resembling tiny notches cut into the letter endpoints. VarietyVista assigned die identifiers UVC-449 and DMR-024, documenting three die stages: Stage A at early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B where both reverse and obverse surfaces have reached mid die state, and Stage C at late die state (unconfirmed). The MDS confirmation for Stage B establishes a mid-production reference point. The comment notation identifies the obverse as ODV-011, characterized by a blunt 9 in the date — an Obverse Design Variant that provides an independent diagnostic feature on the opposite side of the coin, making this a dual-attribution die marriage. Philadelphia struck approximately 929.36 million silver Roosevelt dimes in 1964, the final year of silver dime production before the Coinage Act of 1965 eliminated silver from the denomination, and this massive output generated extensive die inventories.
