Description
1964 WDDR-006 is a doubled die reverse on the 1964 proof Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on the branch ends, the lower right leaves, the eagle's left wing, E PLURIBUS UNUM and STATES OF AMERICA, and slightly on QUARTER DOLLAR. Its obverse is a minor doubled die too, which the Wexler files carry as 1964 proof WDDO-005: LIBERTY shows a close spread toward the rim, and two short vertical gouges sit between the upper parts of the I and B in LIBERTY. On the reverse, a gouge lies between the O in OF and the second S in STATES, at the S's bottom. Ralph Huntzinger submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
