Description

A very close bar shows below the L of LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse: A horizontal die scratch shows under the chin. A NW to SE die scratch shows just to the right of the chin. An inverted “V” shaped die scratch shows near the center of the neck. Reverse: A small die gouge (dot) touches the underside of the left tip of the crossbar of T of UNITED. A die scratch runs from the upper A ESE to the second T of STATES. Multiple parallel die scratches run WNW/ESE through STATES OF and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Two die gouges (dots) are present inside the third Memorial bay. Mostly vertical die scratches run inside the first and last two Memorial bays. A die scratch runs WNW/ESE above the right side of the O of ONE. A small die gouge (dot) can be found under the right side of the crossbar of T of CENT. A die scratch runs southeast from the upper right E of LIBERTY. A die scratch runs SSE from the lower right B of LIBERTY. A die gouge can be found below the right side of the B of LIBERTY. A long die scratch curves NNE from the top of the 9 of the date along with numerous other mostly vertical to mildly tilted die scratches. Reverse: A small die gouge (dot) can be found below and just left of U of UNITED. Several die gouges can be found below and around MER of AMERICA and above the right roof and cornice. About horizontal die scratches run from ER of AMERICA to and above the right roof. A small die gouge (dot) is present left of the upper middle of the O of ONE. A small die gouge (dot) can be found inside the lower E of CENT. Light horizontal die scratches run through and above CENT.
