Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-492 with die marriage reference DMR-040, the 1964-D Roosevelt Dime DDO-003 displays a medium spread on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the designer's initials JS (positioned side by side rather than stacked), and the date. The side-by-side orientation of John R. Sinnock's initials is itself a diagnostic — this placement is characteristic of the specific obverse die variety ODV-011, also known as the Blunt 9 variety, where the tail of the 9 in the date terminates abruptly rather than tapering to a point. The Blunt 9 hub variant is one of several recognized obverse die varieties in the Roosevelt Dime series, and its presence on this die connects the doubled die characteristics to a specific hub lineage.
