Description
1963 WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1963 proof Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a very strong Class II spread toward the center on the wreath, the eagle's talons, both wings, QUARTER DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. On the obverse, a small gouge (dot) lies on the lower part of the ribbon's upper fold. On the reverse, a short, light scratch separates the A and M in AMERICA near their bottoms. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 6-R-II, and Cherrypickers as FS-25-1963-802. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
