Wexler as a Class II Distorted Hub Doubling variety, this proof 1963 Jefferson Nickel doubled die reverse exhibits a very nice spread on E PLURIBUS UNUM with lesser doubling on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Class II doubling results from distortion of the hub itself — the master tool used to create working dies — rather than from misalignment or rotation during the hubbing process.
