The 1963-D Doubled Die Obverse DDO-009 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1963 (D) Franklin Half Dollar, part of the Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963 series. Die markers: UVC-242 DMR-010 Stage A: Obverse is EDS Die scratch from I of UNITED East to bell hanger – LDS Stage B: Obverse is MDS Reverse is VLDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed).
