1962 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003
ErrorDescription
A counterclockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately 12 o'clock distinguishes the 1962 Proof Roosevelt Dime WDDR-003, with the rotational doubling visible on USA, ONE DIME, EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM), and the bottom of the olive branch. Attributed by the Wexler Team with variety ID 1962 10¢ Pr WDDR-003, the reverse carries a diagnostic short horizontal die scratch on the upper right O in OF, while no significant obverse markers have been noted. The rotational nature of this doubling — pivoting from the top of the die — means displacement increases with distance from 12 o'clock, producing the greatest separation at the bottom of the reverse design and diminishing toward the top. The 1962 Proof Roosevelt Dime is among the final 90% silver proof issues (the last being 1964), and the CCW rotational pattern provides a distinctive identification signature that sets this variety apart from the more common linear spread types.
