1962 Jefferson Nickel - Doubled Die Reverse DDR-005

Description

Fifth documented DDR for the 1962 Philadelphia Mint Jefferson Nickel — a date that has yielded an extraordinary catalog of reverse doubled dies, with the Wexler system alone documenting over seventy entries. DDR-005 displays light spread on OF AMERICA, consistent with many Jefferson Nickel DDRs where the peripheral reverse lettering captures the most visible hub displacement. Cataloged by VarietyVista under UVC-1083 with die marker reference DMR-014, three die states trace the die's working life through production. Light spread on OF AMERICA, while requiring magnification to confirm, provides a reliable attribution point. The 1962 date falls in the post-war era of high-volume proof and business strike production, and the convergence of massive output with intensive collector scrutiny has made it one of the most thoroughly documented dates for reverse die doubling in any American coin series.
