Reverse Stage A shows two parallel die scratches running north to south on the left Memorial base, a die gouge below the left side of the U in UNITED, a light die scratch from southwest to northeast on the right Memorial base, and a short die scratch from west-southwest to east-northeast above the head of the statue. Stage B introduces several light die scratches through the upper NI of UNITED, a short strong die gouge touching the right side of the T in UNITED, and a small die gouge between the T and E of UNITED. Stage C adds die scratches south from the underside of the NU in UNUM, a die scratch south from the bottom of the S in PLURIBUS, a die scratch north-northeast from the top of the right cornice, two close parallel die scratches south-southeast from the lower right I in AMERICA, and numerous die scratches through the bays on the right side of the Memorial.
