Description

The 1960 Proof Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1960 Lincoln Memorial Cent - Proof Small Date, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: A short die gouge runs SW from the rim to the left of the I of IN. Die scratches run ENE from the hair above the ear into the forehead. Reverse: A vertical die scratch can be found in the upper 10th Memorial bay.
