1960 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-009

Description

Class II, Distorted Hub DoublingA nice spread toward the center shows on LIBERTY, the star and the date increasing from left to right.  A much closer spread toward the center shows on IN GOD WE TRUST.

Die Markers

• Obverse: Interesting curling raised line in hair above back of neck.  It looks like it was struck through string or wire but is raised.  Perhaps the earlier strike through wire left an impression in the die.  Short vertical die gouge inside left center of W of WE.
• Reverse: None noted.
