1959 Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

1959 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1959 Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Most letters show extra thickness, and the doubling is clear on E PLU of E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the obverse, a die chip is centered inside LIBERTY's R, a N/S scratch sits low between its R and T, and a die chip lies on the nose above the nostril. On the reverse, die chips sit outside the upper curve of STATES's second S, and more die chips lie between the right dot and DIME's E, nearer the dot. Joe Feld submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 7-R-VI.
