Description
The 1959 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-009 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1959 Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-983 DMR-012 Stage A: Diagonal die scratch through upper M of AMERICA – EMDS Obverse is EMDS Stage B: Strong die scratch South from M of UNUM – MDS Die clash through queue – MDS Numerous die scratches on Obverse Stage C: Die scratches on Reverse and Obverse are light – LMDS Stage D: Reverse is LDS Two die scratches curving down from eyebrow – LDS.
